On the calendar, today is Earth Day.

In my life, every day is Earth Day -
after all, we live here on Earth.
Every day.

And today...
there are people who are making time to celebrate the Earth!
For this I am grateful.

Because when we step into ceremony—
when we pause, give thanks, and become present—
we raise our frequency.

And as we do,
we gently lift the field around us.

And in that field,
we have greater access to love—
unconditional, healing love.

In the Andes of Peru -
in the traditions of Andean mysticism,
offerings of gratitude are made to Pachamama (Mother Earth) --

as a way of honoring and celebrating living in harmony and sacred reciprocity in the garden of life.

I have sat with many Native American teachers
where first the first "taste" of the meal is given to Earth/Gaia before we receive.

I have danced with Machi sisters of the Mapuche in Chile -
celebrating the Earth's infinite abundance
and her deep, enduring forgiveness.

In these traditions,
we give thanks.

And the Earth responds with generosity.

If we ever question our worthiness to receive,
we begin here:

Thank you.

Thank you for what has already been given.

And in that gratitude, in so doing,
we open to receive even more.

There is beauty in the world all around you right now.

Do you see it?
Do you feel it?
​Will you receive it?

In walking the medicine spiral,
I have returned again and again
to the teaching of Practicing Beauty.

Years ago, I was having lunch with Sandra Ingerman
after we had both had been teaching this very practice.

She shared with me a teaching of the 13 Grandmothers:

So we ask ourselves:
What am I planting in the world?

And even more intimately --
what am I planting in my own inner garden especially?

Where your attention goes,
your energy flows.

What are you watering?
What are you choosing to grow?

And remember…

You are not separate from this.

You are 99% energy.
You are light.
Achild of the Sun, here on Earth.

And your presence--
your attention, your heart, your way of being—
creates a ripple in the world around you.

What if we don’t compete?

What if we are loud and proud about our light--
and our heart connections,
open, connected, and real with one another?

Heart to heart.

Listening.
Seeing.
Holding each other in love.

Real people, person to person - experiencing the miracle of two Human ears listening… looking for beauty.

And then remember,
today--
and every day--

Practice Beauty.
